About our Math Program
Mathematician might not be the first job that comes to mind when considering what to study or which degree to work toward. But math is valuable in many jobs, from computer science to physics or engineering. ENMU-Roswell’s Associate of Applied Science degree in Mathematics is perfect for the analytical or science-minded students who want post-secondary education and want to prepare for a four-year program. It’s a fantastic way to get your required 101’s out of the way for a fraction of the cost if your end goal is a bachelor’s degree from a “tech” university. Our mathematics degree is a strong foundation for future problem-solvers or those in pursuit of other high level degrees.
Mathamatics A. S.
Associate of Science
The A.S. in Mathematics provides the foundation needed to transfer into a Bachelor of Science degree program in Mathematics related fields at a four-year institution. The Associate of Science in Mathematics is an academic transfer program designed to introduce students to the field of mathematics and transfers into a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program at ENMU.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate mathematical and statistical reasoning and computation of equations necessary to implement the creative and effective solution of real-world using mathematics
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills necessary to solve complex mathematical problems that require precision and accuracy of results
- Analyze and synthesize information from functions, equations, models, or data sets, in order to gain insight and draw conclusions. Be able to articulate in writing and orally the fundamental principles of mathematical application and sound experimental design based upon reasoning, logic, computation, and sound analytical processes.
