Shawn Powell, Ph.D., currently serves as President of Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell. He is a Past President of the New Mexico Association of Community Colleges. He holds a doctorate in psychology and a master’s degree in administrative leadership. Prior to moving to New Mexico Shawn was at Casper College, in Casper Wyoming, where he served as the Vice President of Academic Affairs. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 30 years in the Air Force and Air National Guard. His military service included a tour at the United States Air Force Academy as an associate professor of behavioral sciences and leadership, where he also served as the director of the cadet counseling center. He is a licensed psychologist and is board certified in school psychology.
