Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Honored with 2024 NM Hospital Association Commitment to Community Healthcare Award

ROSWELL, NM – October 2, 2024 – Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell (ENMU-R) has been recognized as the 2024 recipient of the prestigious New Mexico Hospital Association (NMHA) Commitment to Community Healthcare Award. This honor acknowledges community organizations that partner with New Mexico hospitals to enhance the health and well-being of the local population.

ENMU-R was nominated for the award by Eastern New Mexico Medical Center (ENMMC), highlighting the university’s dedication to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals who will serve Roswell and Southeast New Mexico. The nomination celebrates the university’s contributions to workforce development in the region.

Warren Yehl, CEO of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, emphasized the strong connection between the two institutions, stating, “The futures of ENMU-Roswell and ENMMC are closely linked. We serve on respective boards and have created a shared clinical space within the medical facility for students. We are fully committed to ensuring the success of both organizations.”

The award was presented during the Hospital Quality Awards Ceremony at the NMHA’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, NM.
