Celebrating 65 Years

Joined by friends, family, and ENMU-R Alumni, we celebrated 65 years of academic excellence Tuesday evening by exploring our institution’s more than half-century of history. Campus faculty and staff volunteered their time to designing a themed station for each of the decades that ENMU-R has been proudly serving our community; beginning in the late 1950’s through to the present day.
At the end of the night, votes were cast for the best decade represented. While all of our tables were cleverly decorated with bits of nostalgia and vintage tech sourced from around the campus, only one winner could be named. Congratulations to Dusty Baker and Tad Scott for their totally rad booth and equally gnarly vintage garb from the 1980’s.
Dr. Shawn Powell, Campus President, and Eric Mann, EMS Program Director, say a few words to guests gathered in the ITC Commons before introducing the event’s speakers.
Our gratitude to the the ACES Ambassadors who helped at the front entrance registering our guests and to the speaker, Nick Terry, for their thoughts on how we can improve our visibility to attract future students.
We were joined by a panel of speakers who entertained us with stories of their time at ENMU-R, sharing their memories, what they have learned along the way, and reflecting on the past.

What makes the ENMU-R campus so special are it’s people and they really showed up in so many colorful ways to make our 65th Anniversary a memorable experience.
