ENMU-Roswell Kicks Off the School Year with Successful Welcome Back Event
Roswell, NM – August 29, 2024 – Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell (ENMU-Roswell) hosted its highly anticipated Welcome Back Event on August 29th, celebrating the start of a new academic year. The event, which brought together students and community members, offered an exciting evening filled with fun activities on a warm summer night.
Open to both students and the public, the event featured a variety of attractions that appealed to all ages. Activities included corn hole, face painting, bounce houses, putt-putt golf by Pecos Putt Portable Mini Golf, a petting zoo, and live entertainment provided by DJ 5 Star. Attendees also enjoyed a diverse selection of snacks from multiple food trucks. Registered students received free t-shirts as a special welcome gift.
ENMU-Roswell faculty and staff actively participated in the festivities, with the Physical Plant team ensuring everyone stayed refreshed at the hydration station by offering delicious aguas frescas. The campus departments were present under a large tent, providing important information, exciting giveaways, and stamps for the bingo cards distributed to attendees upon entry.
Throughout the evening, prize drawings were held every 30 minutes, giving students the chance to win a variety of items, including stuffed aliens, Yeti and Stanley cups. The highlight of the night was the laptop computer giveaway, which drew a crowd of enthusiastic students hoping their rock-paper-scissors skills would secure them the top prize.
With over 500 students and guests in attendance, the event was a resounding success. ENMU-Roswell extends its gratitude to everyone who made the evening possible, including the vendors, entertainment providers, and, most importantly, the students who turned out to celebrate and enjoy the event.
This event continues to grow each year, and planning for next year is already underway. We hope everyone has a fantastic school year and stays tuned for more exciting events throughout the year.
