ENMU-Roswell’s Teaching Resource Center: A Valuable Asset for Local Educators and Beyond
As the new school year kicks off, local teachers and early childhood educators are encouraged to explore a valuable resource located on the ENMU-Roswell campus—the Teaching Resource Center and Library (TRCL). Open for almost a year now, this center, funded by a 2022 general appropriations bill, offers a wealth of materials and support to Pecos Valley educators, from those teaching infants and toddlers to college students at ENMU-R.
The TRCL is more than just a library; it’s a comprehensive support system designed to meet the needs of today’s educators. The lending library is stocked with a robust selection of children’s books and teaching resources aimed at addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Special attention has been given to ensure that the materials cater to the diverse population of students and families living in New Mexico.
Since its opening, the TRCL has become a hub for local educators. Teachers from surrounding areas regularly check out materials for their classes, and the center has even received donations throughout the past year. The facility offers resources not only for children but also for parents, with a wide range of kits, educational manipulatives, sensory toys, and more.
Located in Room 120 of the Occupational Technology Center (OTC) at 20 W. Mathis St. on the ENMU-Roswell campus, the Teaching Resource Center and Library is open on Mondays from 2-4 p.m., Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m., or by appointment. Future educators, teacher candidates, and community members are encouraged to visit and take advantage of the resources available to help plan for the upcoming school year.
